The work deals with dementia, as observed through the artist's eyes and chronicles some disturbing parallels – where artist and sufferer can both be considered patients of a similar affliction.

An artist needs to do what he does, he is a painter not a mechanic, engineer or gardener simply because he cannot help himself – he has to paint. Nor can an Alzheimers' patient help forgetting. So the observer and the observed draw dangerously close to each other . . .
