In 2012, James A. Rocco proved that you should never give up on your dreams when he released a re-debut CD called It’s Between Us that included the hit single And The Night Stood Still. As college stations around the country played the single, written by pop music legend, Diane Warren, Rocco continued his “day job” as VP of Programming and Artistic Director of The Ordway Center of Performing Arts, where he writes and hosts the SRO music series Broadway Songbook. As the single climbed the FMQB Adult Contemporary Chart, there was no doubt that It’s Between Us, was a rebirth of a dream, the return of a singer that a critic once called “one of the most astonishing voices to ever cross the stage.” James A. Rocco bounded on the scene, as a back-up singer on Frank Sinatra’s Watertown album. He went on to a teenage career as a session vocalist and matured into a full fledged career that spanned from pop to Broadway to jazz. A career that includes appearances at Carnegie Hall, tours with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and The Super Sounds, starring on Broadway in CATS, all over the U.S. in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and recording previously unheard material by Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter and the Gershwins. Cold Enough 4 U? is a holiday gift that is adult pop at its best. It’s a 2 song set that includes: Cold Enough To Snow from the motion picture Life With Mikey, written by, Stephen Schwartz & Alan Menken; and Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) written by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich & Phil Spector. The EP was produced by Raymond Berg & James A. Rocco, recorded and mixed by Matthew Zimmerman at Wild Sound Recording Studios, Minneapolis, MN. Personnel include some of the Twin Cities’ most sought after musicians: Raymond Berg on Keyboards and Accordion, Mark “Leo” Lenander on Guitar, Cory Carter on Bass and Joey Van Phillips on Drums. Background Vocal are provided by Randy Schmeling (from Power Balladz), Jill Mikelson (from Love, Janis) James A. Rocco’s new EP – Cold Enough 4 U? is the follow up release to his 2012 FMQB Top 40 hit, And The Night Stood Still. Cold Enough For You ? includes the Phil Spector, Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry’s classic, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) and a previously unreleased track, Alan Menken & Stephen Schwartz’s, Cold Enough To Snow.
