In 2012, James A. Rocco proved that you should never give up on your dreams when he released a re-debut CD called It’s Between Us that included the hit single And The Night Stood Still. As college stations around the country played the single, written by pop music legend, Diane Warren, Rocco continued his “day job” as VP of Programming and Artistic Director of The Ordway Center of Performing Arts, where he writes and hosts the SRO music series Broadway Songbook. As the single climbed the FMQB Adult Contemporary Chart, there was no doubt that It’s Between Us, was a rebirth of a dream, the return of a singer that a critic once called “one of the most astonishing voices to ever cross the stage.” James A. Rocco bounded on the scene, as a back-up singer on Frank Sinatra’s Watertown album. He went on to a teenage career as a session vocalist and matured into a full fledged career that spanned from pop to Broadway to jazz. A career that includes appearances at Carnegie Hall, tours with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and The Super Sounds, starring on Broadway in CATS, all over the U.S. in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and recording previously unheard material by Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter and the Gershwins.
