I believe the ultimate freedoms and enslavements are internal. I've found inner freedom is the hardest freedom to acquire; inner enslavements the hardest chains to break: the inner critic/perfectionist who says you're never good enough; a past that haunts you and holds you hostage to mistakes and failures you can't outrun. The song is both a confession and a prayer to be truly free.
