简介
Culture VI Records & Fat Beats proudly present John Regan: Sorry I'm Late October 20th, 2010: Fat Beats and Culture VI Records have partnered to distribute John Regan's debut solo album, "Sorry I'm Late". The 24 year-old Baltimore native has collaborated with several of hip-hop and R&B's most respected talents for the project, which will be released November 2nd, 2010 on Culture VI Records. The album includes features by Marsha Ambrosius, Joell Ortiz, Naledge of Kidz in the Hall, Skyzoo, Sha Stimuli, Ill Bill and PackFM. While multi-platinum producer Needlz, who currently has the number 1 song in the country with Bruno Mars (Just the Way You Are), provides the soundscape for three stellar tracks, 88-Keys and Nottz team up - for the first time - to provide the production for "Nobody's Somebody". Keys supplies the samples and drums, with Nottz contributing one of his signature bass lines - while also reciting a riveting verse. Unheralded, yet well accredited, producer YZ provides the canvas for a majority of the collaborations on "Sorry I'm Late". Under the tutelage of veteran producer Chucky Thompson, YZ began his career working alongside Rich Harrison and Young Guru. He has since spent his years recording and producing for such artists as Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, and Patti Labelle. Setting the tone for the album with hard, crisp drums, emotional instrumentation, and an attention to detail rarely found on independent releases, YZ is hoping to use this project as a means to introduce himself to people outside of the industry who might not otherwise be familiar with his work. John's lyrics can best be described as authentic. There are no tales of drug kingpins or any false gangsta-isms in his music. Instead, his songs vividly describe pain, loss and struggle, yet with a hint of hopefulness. John is both a rookie and a veteran of the industry. Having been signed to Culture VI Records for the past nine years, John has worked intimately with the creation and marketing of the label's past four releases, learning the importance of relationship building, while feverishly developing his social media skills - making it difficult to remember that this is only his first album. The early leaks have received an overwhelming response, having already been featured on hundreds of blogs and websites, including such influential sites as XXLmag, 2DopeBoyz, HipHopDX, nahright and DJBooth. With over a half-million views of Culture VI interviews last year, "Sorry I'm Late" is poised to capitalize on the label's strong brand recognition. Culture VI has also partnered with Ariel Publicity in an effort to maximize all possible marketing opportunities.
