简介
Scattered EP was self-recorded and produced by Wes Walls with detail-obsessed passion over a 2 year period, and features drum performance by multiple-Juno-nominated songwriter/producer Ryan Stewart. The songs, written in singer-songwriter style on acoustic guitar, tell an optimists tale of love lost and found. "Carry You Along", the opening track, is a song about letting go and moving on with a slow-burning epic feel, a-la Coldplay. "Scattered" laments the turmoil and uncertainty of purpose in a girl's life, in energetic pop rock. Closing track "She Could Be" is just a love song, imagining that she might be the one that leaves the rest behind, with jangly acoustic guitars and a chunky driving rhythm. Each song was meticulously built up, layer by layer, with electric guitars, bass, synth, piano, tambourine, strings and vocal harmonies - all performed by Wes - to augment the sensational experience of the music. The songs were painstakingly edited and mixed by Wes for a rich and emotive sonic landscape. Many thanks are due to Ryan Stewart for his always-impressive drum performance, and to Richard Dolmat of Digital Sound Magic in Vancouver for making the final mastered tracks sound so sparkly clean.
