简介
The story of Little Sisters of the Poor is a blank canvas. However, the history of its members is a deep tale with its roots wrapped firmly around the heart of Dallas/Ft. Worth rock music. In the Fall of 2011, guitarist Jason Jones (The Feds, Mermaid Purse) and thrifty, tricky and thoughtful drummer Gabe Muzquiz (Bronze Wailer, Slow Roosevelt) began the search for the pieces to a new puzzle. It would demand seasoned professionals with a keen sense of song, a proven track record, and an unrelenting, yet ego-less approach. After months of auditions and only a few solid arrangements, the players rose to the standards, and the auditions became rehearsals. To solidify the rhythm section, the bass would be integral. They wanted power and skill, yes, but feeling was just as crucial. When wildcard Joe Becker (Microton, Satellite Down) emerged in auditions, the standard was exceeded. Joe made the vision bigger, and the songs got smarter. Joining Jason Jones on guitar would be JP Dunn (Fear of Self, Project 232) who certainly understood the artistic vision. When paired, these two are acrobats. They are majestic birds in flight and explosive fireworks of melody, harmony, and mathematic, uncanny natural ability. Now rehearsals were cooking. Little Sisters of the Poor was finding it's voice. Then, they finally found a voice. The unlikely final touch was Dunagin Gaines (Moving Atlas, 21Fits). This singer brought more than a dynamic voice. It was always more than a cheeky, chess-clever sense of melody and more than an electric stage presence. He is determined. His words are tragic, heroic, and picturesque. He sings it and folks believe. He is a man of conviction. In fact, this is a band of conviction. With no real story of its own yet, the deep history of this band makes for a seriously exciting future.
