Zachariah AD was started by singer-songwriter Zack Heinlein from Sarasota, Florida. The style blends Folk, Indie Rock, Classical and expressive vocals to complete a dark haunting sound. Growing up in a musical household heavily inspired by variety of genres stretching from Classical, Hard Rock to Hip Hop; When he was young, Zack's initial spark was lit by bands like Thrice, The Used, Coheed and Cambria, Finch and My Chemical Romance. Over the years he was vocalist and lyricist for a number of Post-Hardcore and Indie-Rock bands primarily influenced by bands like The Devil Wears Prada and UnderOATH. However, he always wrote songs aside from the bands he played in that had an Acoustic/Folk sound. Today he has tied in influences from artists like Bright Eyes, City and Colour, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Lydia, Copeland, Iron and Wine and Manchester Orchestra. Also, taking interest in literature, history and biblical stories, he connects with characters, fiction and non-fiction alike, that inspire a number of his songs. Using books, films and characters' perspective, his lyrics and sound revolve around his love of allegory and story telling. The name Zachariah AD is a play off of his own name (Alexander Dale Zachariah Heinlein).
