Kahlil Kwame Bell has been called one of the most prolific musicians in the industry today. His career began at a mere two years of age when his father and uncle introduced him to West African drumming of the Ancient Mali Empire. He futhered his study of drumming at the Bloomingdale House of Music at the age of ten. By the age of fifteen, he enrolled at the Harlem School of the Arts. Upon his arrival, he received his first job assisting dance movement classes. He worked at the school for two years. He graduated from Rice High School and attended the State University of New York College at Old Westbury, where he assisted classes for Alfrida Derby, a dancer who was part of the original Olatunji Drum Dance Company. After graduating with his B.A. in Communicative and Creative Arts, he returned to the Harlem School of the Arts to teach. During his six year tenure he found time to record, perform and tour with such artists as, Roberta Flack, Peabo Bryson, James Ingram, Ashford and Simpson, Luther Vandross, Erykah Badu, Common, Bilal and the Artist formerly known as Prince, just to name a few. Kahlil has recorded over 80 records, two as a leader. "Act of Faith" is a fusion of hip-hop, jazz, classical, rock, world music and spoken word in a very pure form.
