简介
Stayin'hi Records was founded in 1992 by Roscoe Kellam also known as Sco. This pioneer of rap music has been in the industry since the age of twelve. During his career, he has released 10 albums independently pushing an impressive 50,000 units hand to hand. Although he is originally from Pontiac, Michigan, the fan base ranges from Midwestern states such as Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and all the way down south to Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. This hip-hop phenomenon’s talent and energy far surpasses that of the average rapper. “Sco's music is just as real as Jeezy, or T.I. but with a raw Mid-West twist! He is one of Michigan's finest” (Scott Bejda -Street Masters Magazine). Sco is currently working on his 11th album titled Grown Man that will feature the legendary R&B singer Gary Taylor, rappers Tha Realest, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, and Kiotti. The album includes hottest rising star producers Big Phazz from Texas, the incredibly talented Marcus from California, Lil Flip’s producer Shorty-P from Arkansas, and many more. The artist and his street team have been promoting the album very seriously through various channels. Some of the promotional activities to support the album include live performances, college and commercial radio airplay, online radio stations, television commercials, CD giveaways, vinyl records, postcards and flyers, features on other artist’s mixtapes, internet networking, and also magazine interviews. The history begins in 1993 when Sco teamed up with his long-time friend Melo to release, All Bizzness. Although it was the first album it sold quite a few records. The second album that was launched was called Life in the Yac. It sold a massive number throughout the Midwest. In 1997, a hot single titled In the Ghetto, that featured Tha Frizzo Crew, put him on the map. Furthermore, the originator dropped Pimp in the Yac that sold thousands of copies which gave him mad exposure through the states. Later in the years, Sco was managed by Harmony Entertainment in West Virginia. After six months of tutelage, he returned to his hometown to pursue his love for rap. By the year 2000, the lyricist was holding down his own fan base and dropping albums back to back such as Anotha Day, Anotha Dollar, Networkin, Greatest Hits Volume 1, and Gutta Freestyle Mix-Tape. In 2003, he made some real noise when he dropped the first group album titled Stayin Hi Boys Sh03, which landed him a distribution deal with RND Distribution based in Houston, Texas. In 2006, Sco released another independent album titled I Can Do This as well as a book titled The Life of Sco that astounded many people. The album included guest artists, Michael “5000” Watts from Swishahouse Records/Warner Brothers, Inc., multi-platinum producer and artist Kenoe from Koch Records/Laboratory Records, and the famous R&B singer and songwriter, Keith Washington. To add to his accomplishments the hip-hop king has been featured in many popular hip-hop magazines and newspapers such as The Murderdog, Ozone Magazine, Downlow, Block to Block, WWS Magazine, Rap Ireland, Rap Fanatic, The Interscope Promoter, and many more.
