The album 15,000 Days contains eleven songs, written by guitarist and vocalist, Mike Styer , including Heart Full of Music, which was written With producer Rick Witkowski. The instrumentation is largely acoustic with percussion, bass guitar and keyboard. Styer is joined by his producer and engineer, Rick Witkowski singing back-up with Styer's daughter, Shelby Styer who also sings lead on a touching ballad called Ivy. Mike plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, Dobro and piano with Rick adding bass, lead acoustic guitar, keyboard and percussion. Mike's long time-friend and band-mate Merv Eddy plays pedal steel on three tracs, 15,000 Days, Hard Road and Let's Drift Away. Mike also gets help from Karen Shell who adds piano on Heart Full of Music and a string arrangement to Ivy. Styer's big influences are Neil Young, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jackson Browne and Bob Dylan. The album is a beautiful production by Rick Witkowski who has a long track record of musical accomplishments. He has worked with national and regional artist with his skilled production and instrumental work. He is an original member of the prog rock group, Crack The Sky. Daughter Shelby adds pure, sweet harmony vocals that compliments every song she adds her voice to. Each song has something to say, spanning Styer's long run of writing, recording, singing, playing and performing.
