When I started recording 'Who I Was Before' just shy of three years ago, I was really in a different place in life, so the title of the record, set in stone before this realization set it, is really appropriate. These songs are from various points in the last 6 years of my life; each of them represents a different moment or event and so they feel really special to me. I wanted to find a way to make an acoustic record that would hold up against modern music, and I didn't want to fall into just one category; I hope to have accomplished this. But it would be enough that my songs were heard, and that they brought some sort of happiness or consolation to you.
