Kite came together in July of 2008 and released thier groundbreaking self-titled debut less than a year later. Knock out production with soaring guitar crescendos, beautiful harmonies, and explosive drumming create and inspiring experience for the listener and lends credit to past and future genres of rock and roll, reggae, and dance music. In addition to playing electric bass writing many of the original compositions for Kite, Ray is an accomplished upright bass and acoustic guitar player. Past projects include: Acoustic Setting (current), Butterfly Soul & Bryant & Dahl. Ray’s 00’s of acoustic performances always have a twist and most times a shout. Kenny Coulson a.k.a. “Jelle”: Guitar, Vox Why is he Jelle, it just is. It’s neither good nor bad. Well that can’t always make you happy but it can make you smile when you really think about it. Ken penned many of the original compositions that ended up on the Kite debut. Before Kite, Ken headed up the band Mugdown in and around NYC. Before that, Ken spent 5 years in Europe developing a fond love and healthy fear for the Austrian Alps all the while gathering exposure and ideas for song writing that was to come. Having played a bit in college, he really picked up the electric guitar in 2003, and there was no looking back,. HARI G A N G L B E R G E R Chief Wa-ta-ta-ta: Alien Hearing is believing and Hari sure knows how to play that funky music. He grew up in a small, provincial town in Austria. Started playing violin and piano at age 8. Then one day in the 80s a band from out of town played a concert in the local gym. the style of music they played was later called NEW WAVE and it was LOUD and STRANGE. It sounded very different from the local marching and dancing bands, like coming from another planet. There was a strange object with round cylinders and metal plates of various sizes and attached to it were a seat and pedals - a spaceship?! Hari could not resist and had to climb up and sit down............and then the object took off, carrying him away. and he traveled ever since, seeing many a strange places and people........currently residing in New York City. Extended touring in Europe, England, Asia and U.S.A Alex Theoret Guitar, Vox, Keys In addition to engineering and production on Kite’s debut, Alex plays guitar and sings with the band, when they are in quartet form; rounding out a harmonic sound and intense rhythm dynamic. Alex has performed Vocals & Guitar for various music projects/ bands dating back to 1994 in & around New York City, Including Bongo Fury (ska-punk), The Mission 120 (ska- pop punk), The Divide (rock). His professional recording/engineering credits include: Multiple Latin Grammy nominated Mix Engineer, Multi-Platinum Record sales Mix Engineer, Multi-Platinum Record sales Mastering Engineer, Multiple Billboard Awards, Profiled in Mix Magazine May 2006. He has worked with a diversity of artists from Don Omar, Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin, Wood), John Zorn, and countless others.
