The highlight of the album is the title track "The Real Book of Love." A jazz ballad where every line incorporates a title from the Real Book. For those not in the business, the Real Book is the jazz musician's bible, containing sheet music to all of the jazz standards needed for musicians to get together and play, on the fly. "Mr. Bendy Thing" is a jaded poke at trombones (not trombonists!). "What Do You Know in My Key" tells the story of the untalented lady who wants to sit in with the wedding band. The album culminates with "I Just Want to Play the Blues." I'm throwing up my hands, I'm done with the jazz scene and I just want to play the blues!
