The “cavaquinista (ukelele player)” and songwriter Toinho Gomes, from Minas Gerais State, Brazil, presents his first copyright CD with sixteen instrumental compositions from the brazilian musical genre "choro", and its variants like waltz, gherkin, polka and "choro-canção'; among these compositions are " No Boteco do Hélio ", a finalist of the Festival "Chorando no Rio", held by the" Museu da Imagem e do Som", in 2001, and "Antônio Caetano" , which was a semifinalist of the "Festival Choro Novo", conducted by "Brasil com S', in Belo Horizonte, in 2011. The team that participates the disc included recognized soloists as the “cavaquinistas” Ausier Vinicius and Márcio Almeida Hulk, the mandolin players "Ronaldo do Bandolim" ("Trio Madeira Brasil" and " Época de Ouro") and Tiago Souza ("Regional Carioca"), the saxophonist Daniela Spielmann ("Rabo de Lagarixa"), clarinetist Rui Alvim ("Água de Moringa"), flutist Alexandre Maionese, trombonist Fabiano Segalote, the trumpeter Silverio Pontes and accordionist Kiko Horta. The basic team included the seven-string guitar player Toni Sete Cordas ("Época de Ouro"), the six-string guitar player Rogério Souza ("Nó em Pingo d'Água) , the “cavaquinho (ukelele)” base player Márcio Almeida Hulk and the percussionist Márcio Gomes. The album received compliments from many brazilian musicians and "choro" players like Henrique Cazes, Reco do Bandolim, Roberta Valente and Silvio Carlos, that considered Toinho Gomes as one of the greatest composers of "choro" in Minas Gerais.
