简介
Viscosity is a thrash metal band from the surrounding suburbs of Chicago, IL. The band has been going strong now since the summer of 2000 and have since been in an ever-growing state of progression. In 2000, shortly after composing their first couple songs, the band decided to record a self-released demo for their loyal fans. The reaction was intense. After playing a bunch of shows, the guys went back to recording in hopes of achieving the optimum replication of their sound heard live. In 2002, after numerous previous self-released demos, the guys headed into a real studio. With only a $200 budget and 5 hours of recording time, they manages to pull off their first studio recorded demo. As early 2004 arrived and two of promoting their first studio release, the band realized that their sound had evolved into a faster, tighter, thrashier version of their previous selves. It was time to return to the studio. After weeks of contemplation the guys headed into Studio Chicago to record their first self-titled 6 track EP. This got radio station's attention and radio play as well on local monday metal stations such as Loyola University's WLUW Sound of the Fury. (www.uraniummusic.com/sotf). Shows increased, and so did the fans. Viscosity was on their way. In 2005, 5 years into their musical career, more show opportunities opened down in the city of Chicago in bars and venues. Their sound and style were now solidified. Word of mouth was getting their name out to more people than they realized. As the year came to an end, it was decided that it was time to release a full-length album to record all of their new material. Without the help of managers or record labels, Viscosity has survived since 2000 on their own. This album portrays where the band has come from and the direction, in metal, the future holds for them. ALbum production was aided by engineer Jason Walsh at Farview Recording in December, 2005. By January 2006, in 2 week's time Viscosity's full-length album entitles "Hour of Reckoning" was completed. Now with a solid album under their belts, Viscosity plans to take on the metal world full throttle.
