Familiar to audiences around the globe from his solo projects and multi-genre collaborations, cellist Ian Maksin is coming out with a new album of his original music for solo cello inspired by folk music from around the world as well as by music of Sting. The album also includes several works Maksin has commissioned from award-winning composers Paul Yeon Lee, Ilya Levinson and Seth Boustead. The album is scheduled to be released in early September on Blue Griffin Recording label and will be available for preorder on Amazon, iTunes and at www.ianmaksin.com in August 2014.

Blending together classical, jazz and world music, Ian Maksin's has created his own unique style which has gained him international recognition. He has shared the stage with musicians of many different genres including Andrea Bocelli, Smokey Robinson, Barry Gibb, Mstislav Rostropovich and has opened for such artists as Sting and his guitarist Dominic Miller.
