OMAR LOPEZ is a true entertainer with a passion for the stage, combining his classical training with rock, Latin-jazz, dance club, and world music to create a unique and inspired sound on the electric violin. Moreover, his soulful vocal range is reminiscent of pop and R&B greats like George Michael and Stevie Wonder, with the onstage charisma and class of Latin superstars Luis Miguel and Enrique Iglesias. Omar has been christened "the Jean-Luc Ponty of this millennium" by Houston radio personality Wash Allen for his explosive style and refined technique, and has been voted one of the Top String Players in his hometown of Austin, Texas, for eight years in a row. As the charismatic and energetic frontman of his own innovative and versatile live band and stage show, Omar has opened for Jose Feliciano, Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday, and rock icon Pat Benatar. As an accomplished solo violinist, he has toured with stage shows such as the Dreamsound Orchestra and Emmy Award-winning Spanish flamenco guitarist and composer BENISE's "THE SPANISH GUITAR", featured on PBS. Omar has three albums of original music to his credit - "FOREVER RED" (2005) and "EXPERIENCE" (2007), and "MIRRORS AND MEMORIES" (2010) - all of which he composed and released under his own record label, Omar Lopez Music. A project that took three years to complete, "MIRRORS AND MEMORIES" dazzles the senses as his melodic electric violin and his soulful lyrics carry listeners on a timeless journey over dramatic, ambient orchestrations and driving rock and electronic-pop beats. Omar teamed up with multi-instrumentalist, studio producer-engineer, and songwriter Mark Ford to take his playing and his composition skills to the next level, producing his most electrifying and inspiring set of original instrumental and vocal songs since 2005's "FOREVER RED". From the thunderous opening of the melodic trance rocker "Synergy" to the inspirational lyrics of the anthem "City of Gold", "MIRRORS AND MEMORIES" is a celebration of life and love through music.
