I always loved the colorful Christmas lights on the houses in my neighborhood. Since my family was Jewish we didn't have any, so I had to enjoy everyone else's - they were always magical to me. I'm not a big fan of the holidays - too much forced cheer, too much spending - so I looked for the part of the season that I do like. This is a happy pop song with lots of synthesizers and vocals.
