简介
Abdu kiar’s song tikur anbessa has its deep meaning and roots in the symbolism of the black lion. As history goes the valor of Ethiopian fighters struggling for their beloved mother land had the emblem of the black lion. The black lion insignia seeps through the deepest core of Ethiopianism. The Black Lions were an anti-fascist resistance movement during the Italian occupation of Ethiopia. As Bahru Zewde notes, in spite of its "marginal impact on the Resistance" the Black Lions made "eloquent attempts to give the struggle coherent ideological and political direction. The movement was founded in western Ethiopia, and included fighters such as the Shoan Ras Abebe Aregai, and a number of intellectuals who included the sons of Hakim Workneh Eshete and Heruy Welde Sellase, and Yilma Deressa. Its chairman was Alemework Beyene, a veterinary surgeon educated in Britain. The organization had a constitution consisting of ten points, which included: asserting the supremacy of the political sphere over the military, injunctions against mistreating peasants and prisoners of war, forbidding its members from seeking exile and urging them to prefer death to capture by the enemy. The group was effectively disbanded following the surrender of the Ras Imru Haile Selassie 18 December 1936 in the north bank of Gojeb river. The majority of its members were killed by the Italians following the unsuccessful attempt on Rodolfo Graziani's life on 19 February 1937. The few survivors included Alemework and Yilma. DNA tests on a number of Ethiopian lions carried out in Addis Ababa Zoo have confirmed that Ethiopian lions are genetically distinct from all other lions of Africa. According to this scientific announcement, published in the New Scientist journal, Ethiopian lions have a distinctive dark mane, which covers the head, neck, chest and belly. This explains why Ethiopian lions are called black lions. Abdu Kiar inspired by this deep rooted history wrote his own lyrics, and melodies and composed tikur anbessa, the album with 11 hot beats in it. The songs were arranged, composed, recorded and mastered by Ashebir Mamo in zema studio Washington DC; Sax by Feleke hailu and Teklu demissie; masinko by Setegn atanaw; and kirar by Ashebir mamo. This album with any doubt the best of this Ethiopian year tune is a heartfelt gift from Abdu to all Ethiopians all of the world. The album is distributed by AM music production and Ezra entertainment in North America and all over the world.
