简介
The KBC- A British three-piece playing hook-filled melodies with beats made for the dance floor. The indie-dance post-punkers hailing from Preston, formed in 2003, describing the band as 'the natural thing to do for three lads who were into the same sort of music and who were pretty handy with an instrument' ; the trio were in the same classes at school together where they would spend their time musically plotting. They signed to High Voltage Records a few years later and quickly released their debut single, "Trippin", which was limited to 500 lemon-coloured vinyl. It took another year for second single "Pride Before The Fall" to hit the shelves and push the band beyond the indie underground, gaining national UK radio play from the likes of Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley. Followed by "Not Anymore", they landed live sessions on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, as well as support slots with The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys, Foals, !!!, Friendly Fires, Peaches, The Sunshine Underground, Delphic, Forward Russia, The Whip, The Paddingtons and Milburn. Quickly an album deal with Fabtone Records (Japan) was signed in 2006 and the band released the “Boxed Beats & Shelved Rhythms” EP, a collection of their UK singles, which featured remixes by fellow North-West bands The Whip and We Are Performance. This was followed by the band's debut album, “On The Beat!”, released in early 2007 reaching Number 2 in the Japanese indie charts just behind The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. After some extensive gigging The KBC released a second EP “La Musique” and sophomore album “The Trick” touring them with seminal band The Music. "Walking Disaster/La Musique" single was released on 22 October 2007 in the UK on their own label, Scattergraph on limited 7” vinyl. Trippin, Pride Before The Fall and Best In The Business featured on the computer games Saints Row and World Championship Snooker. …and now, finally, “The KBC – On the Beat!” is available worldwide via Scattergraph… so please, lend them your ears!
