简介

Second Saucer Enough has been said about the past, how Saucers rose from misfit musicians to the godfathers of Connecticut punk music. That story has been told in music, in words, and in film. Although this story is about the here and now, it was, in fact, as Craig, Malcolm, and I were preparing for the New Haven film premiere of It Happened But Nobody Noticed that Craig casually uttered the magic words: “Hey, if we’re all going to be in town for a few days, we should book some studio and time and see what happens.” That is where this story begins. Thirty-two years after coming together for the first Saucers sessions, we found ourselves back in the studio, along with fellow New Haven rocker Ron Sutfin, who graciously made his Wildwood Ranch Recording Studios available to accommodate our pressed schedule, and even took it one step further, providing the talents of members of his current band, The Peacock Flounders. Each of us arrived with a handful of songs – some new, some old, some older. We began with no preconceptions other than to play. Months later, as we began finishing the tracks, it was Malcolm who said “This is Saucers.” And indeed, it is. Had we more time and more resources, our vision of this Second Saucer would have included all of our cherished alumni – Seth Tiven, Katherine Cormack, and of course, Mark Mulcahy. But in the end, this remains Saucers. I can’t believe how fortunate we were to be able to play together again after so many years. – Malcolm Doak Saucers: • Malcolm Marsden: guitars, vocals, harmonica • Craig Bell: bass, vocals, rhythm guitar (Where Have They Gone) • Malcolm Doak: pianos, organs, analog synthesizers, vocals with: • Kerry Miller: drums • Ron Sutfin: backing vocals, percussion, and lead guitar (Where Have They Gone) • Sal Paradise: bass (Where Have They Gone) • Deb Wilson Sutfin and Amy Ronczka: backing vocals (Where Have They Gone) Engineer, mixed, and mastered by Ron Sutfin at Wildwood Ranch Recording Studios, Durham, CT Additional recording engineered by Jim Kuczkowski at The Litter Box, Indianapolis, IN Produced by Saucers and EV Clam for Gustav Group Songs: Security (Marsden) Half Naked and Dead (Doak) Tossed A Coin (CW Bell/Rene Duer) Why Say I?
