Wayne is a headliner guitarist, playing jazz standards as well as writing and producing his own music. His talent is incredible." - Suzi Reeves Wayne Wilkinson is a recognized and accomplished professional guitarist with more than 38 years of experience performing and touring coast-to-coast. Wayne is a regular performer in a number of venues playing original compositions, traditional/straight ahead jazz and progressive blues. He teaches at the nationally accredited Colorado Springs Conservatory and is adjunct professor for non-classical guitar at Colorado State University - Pueblo. Wayne is a former member of the premier Air Force jazz ensemble “The Airmen of Note” based in Washington, D.C. and the "Falconaires" based in Colorado Springs. He was guitarist with "The Dixie Power Trio" and currently plays for numerous musicals at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Venues have included Carnegie Hall, The White House, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage and major jazz and special music festivals across the country. He has performed for multiple Presidents, heads of state and other dignitaries. Wayne has played with Bill Watrous, Bucky Pizzarelli, Johnny Smith, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Nelson Rangell, Harry Allen, Ed Polcer, Allan Viche, Bria Skonberg, Joe Williams, Ernie Watts, James Moody, Henry Mancini and Stanley Turrentine. Other people he’s played with in his career are President Clinton, Jack Jones, Dianne Schuur, Bob Hope, Roger Williams, Louis Belson and The Four Freshman. He is a repeat guest performer with Earl Klugh's Weekend of Jazz. In 1989, he was a semi finalist in the national Henessy Cognac Jazz Search competiton. Wayne's style is deeply grounded in jazz, and includes progressive blues, americana roots, funk, R&B and Texas swing.
