This album took a long time to write and produce. Lots of feeling, lots of good times and also lots of not so good times. Consequently the title Agony and Ecstasy. Vanity of Vanities was an especially difficult song to produce, many thanks to Chuck Sabo and Rick Sifkus who helped bring it together. Although that track is a Muse inspired tune and very raw musically it is electronic music that I enjoy most of all and most of the album is that style. Big fan of BT, Skrillex, Zedd, Tiesto, Benny Benassi. However I am a vocalist and I love great melodies and great vocals. Frank Sinatra, Little Richard, Elton John. I was also deeply saddened in 2016 when Prince and David Bowie suddenly passed away they were also huge influences in my life as a songwriter. Mozart was a prolific and superbly melodic writer and I still love to listen to his vast array of music. I went to see Don Giovanni last year. That opera and The Magic Flute are among my favorite all time pieces of music. Being a minister and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ much of what I write lyrically is a reflection of theology and the things I have come to believe and hold to as a Christian. I suppose that the most musical, creative and prolific artist of all is God.
