简介

Introducing modern adult-contemporary artist and songwriter Carly Robyn Green… Inspired by Mr. Cee Lo Green. It was at the Grammy Awards that Carly was singing as a back-up vocalist for Cee Lo Green, when Cee Lo shared with her some invaluable advice. Carly had been writing and recording of-the-moment electro-pop songs, heeding the mainstream pop music industry’s commercial demands of young adult female artists. These tracks, and others, have received 1.5 million YouTube views for features on over 100 television shows spanning 30+ networks, including NBC’s 30 Rock and Fashion Star, ABC’s Scandal and One Life to Live, CBS’s The Young & the Restless, Showtime’s The Real L Word, HBO’s Hung, Lifetime’s Dance Moms, BET’s Born to Dance, the CW’s Beauty & the Beast, Fly Girls, and Remodeled, MTV’s The Real World and Made, Teen Nick’s Degrassi, TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, and E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as theme songs for We TV’s I Do Over, LOGO’s Pretty Hurts, and The Movie Network’s The Right Hand, as movie title tracks for American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars and Slightly Single in LA, in films including Life Happens starring Kate Bosworth and House Bunny starring Anna Farris, in movie promos for Fox’s What’s Your Number, and on many international records in the JPop, KPop, Chinese and Spanish markets. But when Carly confided to Cee Lo that it’s the timeless, classic songs that inspire her most as an artist and songwriter, he encouraged her to focus her artistry on making music that matters to her ~ music that endures. After performing before audiences as large as 40,000 people at venues like Madison Square Garden, the Staples Center, Citizens Bank Park, the Wachovia Center, The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, Canal Room, Knitting Factory, and the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, opening for Chris Brown and Shontelle, collaborating with Lil Zane, Rocking the Vote on MTV, rallying support for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for pediatric cancer research, exciting fans at Knicks, Sixers, and Phillies games, and debuting on XM Satellite Radio, Carly embarked upon the most rewarding, introspective, and authentic adventure of her career… Aiming to collaborate with the very songwriters whose music originally inspired Carly to become a singer in the first place, Carly sought out such classic songwriters as Jud Friedman and Allan Rich, who penned Whitney Houston’s “Run to You” for “The Bodyguard” soundtrack, Steve Dorff, who composed “Through the Years” for Kenny Rogers and “Miracle” for Celine Dion, Jeff Silbar, who wrote “Wind Beneath My Wings” for Bette Midler, David Wolfert, who wrote “I Believe In You and Me,” recorded by Whitney Houston, Phil Galdston, who penned “Saved the Best for Last” for Vanessa Williams, Jeff Franzel, who has written for Josh Groban and Placido Domingo, Ben Margulies, who wrote “Love Takes Time” with Mariah Carey, and Amy Powers, who wrote “As If We Never Said Goodbye” for Barbra Streisand. Carly quickly gained their respect as an artist and writing partner, and she signed a co-publishing deal with BMG. When Carly’s original recordings gained the attention of Tony and Grammy nominated composer Frank Wildhorn, composer of Whitney Houston’s “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and numerous hits for Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, and Sammy Davis Jr., they began collaborating together on a set of eclectic songs that suit Carly’s artistic personality and modern A/C style. Having recently worked with Charice and Boys II Men, Danish producer Carsten Lindberg produced nine songs for the project. Both of their classic R&B and pop backgrounds brought out Carly’s earliest influences from her hometown Philadelphia music roots, where she had worked closely with Gamble & Huff, Bunny Sigler, and Joe “the Butcher” Nicolo, and opened for Buddy Guy. Carly has since debuted music from this project at the Sundance Film Festival and around Los Angeles at Catalina Jazz Club, Rockwell Table & Stage, The Dave Koz Lounge at Spaghettini, The Mint, and the historical El Rey Theatre. Merging warm, nuanced, powerhouse vocals, with memorable melodies, meaningful lyrics, and contemporary arrangements that integrate select elements from classic pop’s distant and recent past, the piece of work reflects a unique, sophisticated timelessness for the modern adult-contemporary market.
