简介

Almost 10 years since the release of Sauce1..No2 is released, a little late, apologies. It's a little more advanced in some ways than the 1st but has enough genuinely medium tempos to really develop some solid right-hand techniques with loads time for idea development. There are also some unusual ballads and a range of keys..track list below. All chords in various formats will be downloadable from the Sauce website. Some recommendations from Sauce1... "europe's pre-eminent rhythm section in the genre" JOHN ETHERIDGE "The Sauce rocks"   JOE TOWNSEND "Just got your Sauce 1 Cd as a present for fathers day. I love it! Just what us bedroom Djangos need. Can't wait for Sauce 2"   STEVE BELL "An old friend gave me The Sauce when I was about 14. From that, I taught myself the wonders of gypsy jazz. A few years on now, and I look forward to seeing what else I will learn with Sauce 2.  What would I have done without The Sauce!"   BEN HOLDER "A whole Gene Krupa on guitar rythmique"   NEAL WRIGHT 1st-call rhythm guitarist to John Etheridge, Angelo Debarre, Lollo Meier, Fapy Lafertin and Evan Christopher, Dave Kelbie teams up with the greatest swing/groove bass player in the UK. DAVE KELBIE "Kelbie is the motor tonight, providing a strict, subtle pulse - whatever the tempo" THE GUARDIAN UK "Kelbie with a remarkable rhythm on his guitar delivers an impressive performance" MOORS MAGAZINE NL "Sweet Chorus is propelled by the partnership of the guitarist Dave Kelbie and the bassist Malcolm Creese" THE TIMES UK "Dave Kelbie’s rhythm guitar is undoubtedly one of the best in the world" CLASSICA FR "Kelbie maintains the pulse flawlessly at any speed from zero to a hundred and twenty"  JAZZMANN UK "The Rolls-Royce and Jaguar of British rhythm sections" DJANGOSTATION FR "Kelbie produced such a solid percussive rhythm you could hear why the original Quintette didn’t use a drummer" CRACKERBOX Over the last 20 years Dave Kelbie has been a prominent accompanist to many of the worlds leading Jazz soloists and Gypsy musicians.  A self taught guitarist, Dave Kelbie’s first professional engagements were with the celebrated Gypsy guitarist from Holland Fapy Lafertin. He initiated the first European tour in 1989 with the quartet Lejazz and this partnership has lasted until recently with CD releases on Lejazzetal Records including "Swing Guitars" and the highly acclaimed "Hungaria" with tours as recent as 2004. Through his alliance with Lafertin have come performances with musicians such as Hungarian violinist Roby Lakatos, USA Clarinettist Bob Wilber, Bireli Lagrene and Lollo Meier.  Until recently, the groundbreaking UK-based, multi-national Balkan music cooperative Szapora is perhaps his best known project. The band has received much praise for it's concerts Europe-wide and consistently featured some of the finest UK musicians such as Christian Garrick, Dylan Fowler, and Eddie Hession. Szapora has released three CDs on Lejazzetal. Kelbie continues to work in his own quartet with the great Angelo Debarre, the lyrical Lollo Meier, and UK legend John Etheridge. With his last project though, Evan Christopher’s Django a la Creole, Kelbie has become one of the most sought after rhythm guitarists on the worldwide stage. PETE KUBRYK-TOWNSEND "Pete Kubrick-Townsend displayed great taste and sympathy for the genre. His bowed solo was real highligh" "Kubryk-Townsend's solo spot shook as many solar plexus as it did heads - these shook in astonishment at the complex diversity of sounds he drew from his instrument" Andrea Charters - North Devon Journal "on-the-nose bass playing" Rob Adams - Glasgow Herald   At 16 Pete moved to Paris where he then spent several years enjoying the freedom of gigging and busking around France and other European countries until he moved back to his native London in '86.
