Brenda and her husband, Kemp, moved from Charlotte, NC to Ocean Isle Beach, NC where they made their home on the Island for almost 18 years. For the past 3 years, they have resided in Calabash, NC, a sleepy, fishing Village on the North Carolina/South Carolina border. Brenda was born in Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC area and grew up in Florence, SC. She has loved and participated in music all of her life. With church choir being a mainstay, she also sang in college choir/productions and toured with a 135 member Chorus for a few years. “I play guitar and piano, but singing is the real passion in my life and I feel it is the talent God has given me to use and multiply for His glory”, Brenda says. Following her heart, her love for music and the Lord, Brenda is now a solo (and group) recording artist and concert soloist who travels where the Lord leads; all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky. She has participated in one Christian Musical Video filmed in Atlanta, GA, as well as performed on the television program “Atlanta Live” (WATC-Channel 57). She has also recorded and/or participated in nine different albums. Being a member of a gospel trio (Southern Style Trio) as well, Brenda’s concerts are a combination of her solo music, her trio music, and the solo music of her friend & singing colleague, Johnny Marks.
