In January of 1997, in Nampa, Idaho, a star was born. Jessica started singing when she was nine years old. She is drawn to artists such as Rihanna and Adele. Adele is her role model because she has her own style. Jessica loves to sing ballads and pop, and singing takes her to a different world. When Jessica sings publicly she is moved by emotions that are shown on many of the faces in her audience. In fact, that is one of her vices in life. The other vice is shopping. Jessica not only has talent in singing, but she also plays the piano, organ, and violin. She is very accomplished in playing the piano and has received many awards; as well as awards for the orchestra. Jessica has also composed a piece for the piano. Jessica’s other passion is sports. She loves soccer and track and is on the Varsity team for both. She has played soccer for seven years, and has been running for even longer. She received the “Golden Boot” award in 2011, which means she scored the most goals. Her nickname is “Crazy Legs”, given to her by her teammates because she runs so fast. In track she has mastered the 100, 200, and 400 meter sprints. In 2012 Jessica received the “Sprinter of the Year” award at her high school. She has placed at the District meet for all four relays in the past. What Jessica likes best about the sports is the comradery with her teammates. She has also played basketball and ran cross-country in the past. Jessica enjoys white-water rafting, kayaking, hiking, camping, sledding, pageantry, and reading. In the fourth grade Jessica was reading at a 11th grade level. She had been an honor student for many years, has received several scholarships for college through projects, has maintained a 3.+ GPA, and received top level academic achievement in Idaho. Jessica has strong attachments to her church. She attends church every Sunday, attends seminary each day, and attends all the various social activities. She is often asked to sing at these social events. She participated in the “Help Haiti” fundraising outreach program and also various music fundraising programs. She has given back by volunteering to clean her church each week and clean up the forest each year at her church girls camp. Jessica’s goals are to pursue her singing career and be able to touch more people with her voice…For her singing is like therapy and feels good. She wants to attend college and down the road get married and be a “mommy”. Jessica is a force to be reckoned with… Not only does she have talent, is blessed with good looks, and a brain, she is simply a diva in the making.
