简介
One of the finest Nashville vocalists Angaleena Presley has her sights officially set on her solo debut album, titled American Middle Class. Featuring 12 tracks, the singer-songwriter makes sure to include five solo-penned songs along with seven co-writes, which include collaborations with some of country's most esteemed songwriters (Lori McKenna and Luke Laird among them). "It’s like my autobiography – each of the songs is a chapter of my life.I’ve literally lived every minute of this record,” she shares in a statement on Friday, June 27, of the new record, being delivered on Slate Creed Records on Oct. 14. Co-produced with her husband Jordan Powell, the album features the likes of Chris Stapleton, The Indigo Girls' Emily Saliers and her father Jimmy Presley and Patty Loveless (on a vocal narrative on the set's title track), as Billboard reports. Later this summer, Presley heads out on the road with the Indigo Girls on a slew of dates, as AXS previously stated. Previously, Presley set the stage of her career with her groundbreaking work as one third of the acclaimed trio Pistol Annies, also featuring Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe. The group released two full-lengths (2011's Hell On Heels and 2013's Annie Up) before going on hiatus to pursue their storied solo careers. The title track from the former became the trio's signature tune, a sassy female empowerment ode. They followed that success with "Hush Hush," a story about dysfunctional families, off their second set. Late last year, due to private reasons, the groups disbanded and cancelled all tour dates. On signing with Slate Creek, Presley had said, “Part of what I loved about Garth Fundis and Jim Burnett at Slate Creek is that they understood where I wanted to go creatively. Producing this album was important to me because of its content – I’ve lived every word of it and knew exactly how I wanted it to sound.”
