Classically trained, electronically maintained, ‘Brownbear.’ a.k.a. Andrew Desmarais a.k.a Fred Flintstone creates diverse, beat-driven, electronic environments for him and his listeners to exist within. Using an array of synthesizers, samplers, live effects and the DNA extraction technology exhibited in Jurassic Park, Andrew manipulates his loops and samples live and on the fly, allowing for extensive improvisation and unexpected twists and turns. His first album, "Touching Scents" is the first full length release on Portland indie electronic label, Dropping Gems.
