Dr. L. Subramaniam, India's violin icon and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, the great sarod maestro come together in this rare recording to present the art of jugalbandhi. In this album the two great masters perform the raga Jog. India's foremost violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam is one of the greatest living representatives of the South Indian classical system of music today. He has performed on countless stages in over fifty countries for the past five decades. After learning Carnatic music from his father and guru, Prof. V. Lakshminarayana, he went to the US to pursue a degree in Western classical composition and then created the Global Fusion idiom. Ustad Ali Akbar Khan was one of the greatest sarod players of India and a representative of the Maihar gharana of North Indian classical music. He trained under his father and guru, Ustad Allauddin Khan, a great musician and teacher. He established the Ali Akbar College of Music in 1967 and taught several students. He was nominated for the Grammies five times and was also award India's second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan. "Music is a vast ocean and no one can claim to know it all.
