简介
Deni Bonet rocks the violin like nobody’s business. Her newest musical masterpiece, “Bright Shiny Objects,” opens with a burst of impassioned sounds; in an age where music is coming to be defined by one dimensional labels, Deni’s music is timeless and genre defiant. The entire project shifts effortlessly from pop to rock to folk, and even a little jazzy funk. In a departure from Deni's previous records, this is her first all-instrumental rock album. And make no mistake – “rock” it indeed does. But the key to all of this is the melody and the power – the emotional peaks and valleys of the music. The album was written and recorded in NYC with a veritable Who's Who of 'rock royalty', including Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Graham Maby (Joe Jackson), Jack Daley (Lenny Kravitz), Steve Holley (Paul McCartney), Matt Beck (Matchbox 20), Shawn Pelton (SNL), Will Lee (Letterman) and Steve Gaboury (Cyndi Lauper). It was recorded and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Robert L. Smith and produced by Emmy-winning producer, Paul Bevan. The opening score “Light This Candle,” is a genre-shattering fusion of Rock blended with a little Pop. It’s an edgy but fun piece filled with strong drum work and Deni’s electrifying violin riff’s. While “Frankenstein,” is a surprising but successful modern remake of the Edgar Winter classic. It's high energy, and a perfect amalgam of rich violin and guitar interplay. The hypnotic riff that propels “Einstein’s Brain” is just that – hypnotic, and delightfully crashing rock on what would be the choruses; the circular nature of the track spins, stops and starts all over again in a perfect sequence. The title track, “Bright Shiny Objects,” is a duel of delight, in which Deni creates a melodic story, while simultaneously drawing the listener into a musical trance. The entire album is the perfect combination of musical passion coupled with pure talent. Deni Bonet’s playing – and the compositional structure of these songs – takes you in and wraps you up without even realizing you won’t be hearing anyone singing. The emotion and power of the playing is the everything; it’s the key. “Tracks on the album soar high with vibrancy and her ability to stun from beginning to end” ~ No Depression “Bound to be one of the standout records of 2017, I'm calling this early as one of my favorite records of the year.” ~ Paste Magazine “Just finished listening to this masterpiece. The playing is so damn rich and fine and tempered and textured; the melodies are strong and enveloping”. ~ PopDose Magazine
