简介
Musica de ida y vuelta refers to the styles of Flamenco que se originaron, that originated in the interplay, en la interaccion between Spanish and Afro/Latin musical traditions. Just as the Spaniard conquerors took their traditions to the Americas, y las mezclaron con, and there they blended with African and Indigenous traditions, los emigrantes a su retorno, the returning migrants also brought back these songs and music, llevaron esa musica, which were soon included in the repertoire of Flamenco artists, que fue adaptada por los artistas Flamencos, after a process of adaptation to the Flamenco style of singing and playing. This set of compositions, estas composiciones intentan recrear ese proceso, aims at recreating this process, by infusing my personal music language into the Flamenco forms, rhythmic and harmonic styles, y al mismo tiempo, and at the same time, usar conceptos armonicos y ritmicos de los palos Flamencos, I applied some of the harmonic and rhythmic Flamenco sounds in a set of South American based compositions. Rather than an attempt to write a Musicology essay, tan solo deje que los estilos jugaran libremente, I just let the styles interplay freely, using the elements that appeal to me the most, usando los elementos que mas me atraen. Layth and Naseem bring a beautiful Arabic tone and phrasing, aportan su maravilloso sonido Arabe, to add to the interplay of styles. Antonio, con enorme experiencia junto a Paco de Lucia y otros maestros Flamencos, with his vast experience playing with the Flamenco masters, and his family origins in my native Uruguay, es el musico perfecto para interpretar este concepto, is the perfect musician to interpret this music. Tiago, born in the US pero con sangre Uruguaya y Brasileira, but with Brazilian and Uruguayan blood, fluent in almost any style imaginable, and Rob, con su dedicacion, with his dedication to understanding South American music viewed from the Jazz perspective, completan este grupo, round up this group.
