Songs For Someone is the debut release for singer/songwriter Sam Chase. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in 2008 where he studied the drums and music production, the eleven tracks display a very polished sound, in addition to songwriting chops that are miles ahead of someone just getting their feet wet. Sam introduces us to his broad range of musicianship playing drums on four tracks, acoustic guitar, bass (last track) and singing all the vocals. In addition to that, most of the album was recorded in his own bedroom using the tools he learned at Berklee to create a high quality yet budget-friendly recording. Songs For Someone will remind you of James Taylor, Jason Mraz, David Gray and even Marc Cohn, but the result is something entirely original.
