Since the band's conception in a choral room at South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC in 1957, The Catalinas have been a dominant force on the musical scene in the southeast, having played thousands of corporate parties, weddings, festivals and private parties of all kinds. Including their latest album, Dancin' Romancin' , The Catalinas have recorded and released over 75 songs, notably the regional hit "You Haven't The Right" in 1967 and the trend setting classic "Summertime's Callin' Me" in 1975, a song which is credited in part, of creating what is now called "Beach Music" and listed in Rolling Stone magazine as the number 6 alltime favorite Beach Music song. Songs on this album range from funky, easy listening, classic soul, uptempo blues, to a tender ballad.

Dancin' Romancin' is the culmination, to this point, of a group that has stood the test of time. As with their other recordings, this will definitely become a collector's item. The Catalinas were inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
