"The Last Hundred Yards" is the debut release from independent hip hop artist, Mike Petrone. Produced By Chris "Kato" Ju, it features Atlanta sensation Lil Scrappy and the beautiful voices of Iam Beck, Heidi Watson, Candace Jones and Levar Thomas. Authenticity is central to this album; no samples, no recycled rhymes, no autotune, just heart on the sleeve passionate songwriting and knocking beats. Drawing from personal experience, Petrone paints pictures of war torn Iraq on one track ("Baghdad"), the everday struggles of a 9-5 ("Chump Change"), while revealing his inner emotions and insecurities on the next ("Flaws"), without ever seeming out of his element. "The Last Hundred Yards" promises to be the first hundred yards of a marathon from this fresh voice in hip hop.
