In January of this year the world and the underground dance music scene lost one of its brightest stars. Nick Robson was a very talented artist and all round lovely guy who i had the pleasure to call my good friend for many years.

Nick Robson & Friends - Xtal Structures is a small selection of Nick's finest music to date,featuring tracks very generously donated by Simon aka DJ Hi-Shock / Advanced Human, under their respective record labels- Android Musiq , and Translucent, and also my Dirtbag ep which Nick remixed as Contort,.The cover artwork is from Nicks personal photography collection and included are a small selection of moving tributes, written on Nicks behalf. Most importantly all proceeds from the release will go to Nick's family.. Nick Robson had been a key player in the industry, releasing on some of the worlds most respected house, and techno record labels. He produced a range of electronic music from house to techno either as Nick Robson, or as his other more experimental alter egos Contort, and Magnetite. Only late last year Nick had achieved a long ambition and relocated from the UK to Berlin, the home of techno and a place where he felt was his spiritual home too. After i learned of his tragic and sudden passing in January 2015 i really did not know what to do with Nick's remix of my Dirtbag track, which is due for release on my label next month so i talked with all the artists on that release, to some of the labels who worked closely with Nick, and also to Nick's lovely sister Jenny and we came up with the idea to make it a tribute release. Although an absolute honour to finally release some of Nick's work on my label It has weighed heavily on my shoulders too, knowing his remix of Dirtbag was the last piece of music he would ever write. This is something that i will carry in my heart forever, along with all the great memories i have of Nick. i will be promoting this release like a man possessed and hope so much that all of you will go and buy a copy because remember, 100 percent of sales will go to Nick's family.. Without Nick my start into the world of releasing music would have stalled a lot longer. It was him who put me in touch with Bulletdodge, who signed up my first tracks. They took a while to come out, so my 2nd EP ended up being released first on a separate label! But still, Nick helped me get the wheels turning. I'll always be grateful to him for that. "
