This captivating Trio for Horn, Violin and Piano by Peter Winkler, was commissioned by Chamberosity in 2014. It is a series of character pieces beginning with Calls Across the Water, a moving impressionistic tone poem, influenced by a story Chamberosity told Peter about a party where the horn player serenaded guests with horn calls as they were ferried to an island across a lake shrouded in mist. The second movement is a spirited and romantic Waltz which showcases the individual instruments. A single, sustained violin note leads the listener into Elegy, the third and final movement. This movement begins with a persistent mournful horn call which is answered by the violin. The mournful motif develops into a heartwarming nostalgic melody over a gentle Latin rhythm. The movement gradually increases with intensity and unfolds into a lively conclusion. The rich harmonies in this movement were inspired by the music of the late jazz pianist Gil Evans.

Chamberosity is an exciting and dynamic ensemble. Their commissions have greatly expanded the literature for violin, horn and piano. The core members, Linda Sinanian, Jeffrey Forden and Christine Doré, perform and record varied chamber music, from standard repertoire to overlooked and rarely performed treasures, by expanding their roster with guest artists. Chamberosity has been critically acclaimed for "the joy-giving communicative quality of its performances."
