I could tell you that I wrote all these songs on an acoustic guitar and I'm thrilled at how they explode now with other colors and textures. Or that the perspective and ear of my collaborator helped bring clarity and weight to line after line after line. You might be interested to know that creating melodies, whether they're quick and catchy, or aery and beautiful, is one of the things I love most about songwriting. But all that won't tell you why these songs exist. Why they matter. To me. There is a mysterious healing that occurs when you own and tell your story. These are my stories, and I gave them a voice out of the need to understand myself and my experiences, sometimes while I was right in the muddle of it.
