简介
It started in Pensacola, Florida on a dirt road with a backwards-strung guitar, and a burgeoning woman looking for an identity that was ultimately found in music. After just a few years of practice at the age of 17 Lauren Kay was asked to join a local bluegrass band, and there she played and sang the songs of all the female county greats like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette. Over the next few years as Lauren branched out into Northwest Florida she tweaked her style and grabbed the attention of parishioners while performing both on her own, and with local greats. They were great first steps for performance and experience. She has since performed at radio stations across the Southeast (Pensacola, Florida | WUWF's Acoustic Interlude and The Blue Plate Special) (Asheville, North Carolina | WGNW 95.7 FM's The Choice's Asheville Radio Cafe) in support of her debut self titled album, Lauren Kay. Her televised appearances include StudioAmped on PBS, BLAB TV's The Daily Brew morning show, and South Carolina's Niteline on WGGS. 2016 starts off with a sweet surprise from Lauren Kay, releasing her sophmore album, Single Mama, on Jan 8 by her new record label, Baldwin County Public Records. Much like the debut album, Single Mama is personal and intimate. Lauren's vocals seem almost touchable as they tell of innermost secrets and experiences. Producer, Anthony Crawford, puts his handprint on the songs and dives deep into the groove on songs like Big Guns, Single Mama, and More to Me with pedal steel, piano, and electric guitar although it's the stripped down sensitivity of Untouched Letter that could choke you up if not give you a complete meltdown. If all this goodness wasn't enough, this album will include the official video for More to Me as well as an insert with all song lyrics and new photos. Look for Lauren to be touring across the Southeast again in 2016 performing solo, as a duo, or with her full band.
