How Washington, DC defines our situations should be looked at with great cousion and here is WHY THAT IS TRUE –When the issues are ECONOMIC!!! In the late 1960’s and the years that followed, as the “Rust Belt” Cities and Regions Declined, Washington did nothing to save them. NOTHING!!!—WHY???—Because aa places like Detroit, Cleveland and others got SLAMED—Other places GREW!! As the PROSPERTY moved. Our local leaders in Washington from our Cleveland area are praised during that era mostly for bringing us a –“National Recreation Area”—NOT MORE GOOD JOBS!!!! And while some argue that Reagon Era Economics helped us here in the North Coast, the “Clinton-Bush Bubble “ really tended to more “SHIFT GROWTH” in our region than really create “REAL NEW GROWTH”!!! My opinion on this is based on my observation of—Rust Belt Blight in our inner city together with public housing as being most of the new homes there and “BOOMING BURBS” around our city. And --THE SURVEY SAYS???—We are every year also suffering REGIONAL DECLINS IN POPULATION!!!—SO WHERE IS THE REAL GROWTH IN OUR REGION??? ------THANK GOD FOR OUR GREAT “D” and “R” LEADERSHIP— Almost everyone in our Region feels either the “D” or “R” yearly election Loto will save us all if only one or the other could get there total way and lead us. I also feel that way but only if they “BOTH” first—“ACCEPT THAT THEY BOTH HAVE REALLY FAILED OUR REGION THUS FAR!!!! We need real—real change in our political thinking. But first—Let’s talk objective failure and then you can “PIN THE TAIL ON THE POLITICAL CANDIDATE --if needed. -----IT’S ALL THE FAULT OF THOSE GREEDY UNIONS---- I graduated from high school in Akron, Ohio in 1971. I saw the loss loss of jobs first hand in our region as the rubber workers and companies never solved the real problem. Factory workers left, office jobs mostly stayed, with a –net loss of income in our region and a steady population decline. IT IS NOT ALL BAD!!!—or –IS IT???— ----IT’S ALL THE FAULT OF THOSE GREEDY CORPORATIONS--- Later, I then studied Economics at the University of Akron and became A social studies high school teacher. Then law school at Cleveland State and I have been a litigation attorney for over 30 years. I studied Antitrust Law and Federal Labor Laws in school and based on my background and observations decided “IT MUST BE THOSE GREEDY CORPORATIONS” that took away our jobs. I always felt Washington and our locals there did nothing to help—BUT WHAT COULD THEY DO—IT’S A FREE COUNTRY!!! RIGHT!!!—MAYBE—NOT SO RIGHT-- Very early, I saw a problem with the NLRA Collective Bargaining Laws as did many others. But how I saw to maybe --FIX IT—was probably too simple in this world of “PHD” reasoning. But here goes anyway— Just change the law to create a FAIR system of-- BINDING ARBITRATION—and END the ability of Unions to STRIKE!! If Labor hires Good Lawyers and Corporations do the same and they then pick 3 professionals approved by the feds –All relevant evidence will be presented to them and the public too—IF LABOR & MANAGEMENT CAN’T AGREE--WE THE PEOPLE WILL DO IT FOR THEM—I THINK TO SAVE AMERICA!!! ---------DID HE SAY –--“SAVE AMERICA”--?????--------- What is this—“THE GREAT RECESSION ANYWAY??? Well—it could be argued first that--IT IS ONLY REALLY” GREAT” IN THE WESTERN WORLD???—RIGHT— And I think---WE THE PEOPLE ARE GETTING HIT THE HARDEST!!!—?? – RIGHT?? I know Economics teaches that Up & Down is Normal—But—as American Companies endlessly search for cheep labor and profits, and as that hunt keeps leading then to the WRONG PLACES for WE THE PEOPLE—WE NEED TO SOLVE THE –LABOR— UNION --ISSUE---NOW!!! Also, remember—Macro Economics always focused on SHORT RUN & LONG RUN—and –Never gave any hope that OTHER NATIONS— WOULD ALWAYS CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES ---FIRST!!!—IS IT POSSIBLE THE GLOBAL MODEL HAS LOST THAT PERSPECTIVE???-When you throw places Like CHINA into the mix, I Don’s think that works at all!!!!---DO YOU!!! ---------THE AMAZING GRACE---&----LITIGATION----- I know I was trained as a trial lawyer—but--- if we could throw collective bargaining outcomes into a QUICK—OPEN—FAIR—OBJECTIVE—FINAL--Litigation Process— like federal mandated arbitration so that when a company says, I can’t do that and still make a profit, the process could help everyone see the realities of that. What we do now is a process of—NEVER REALLY KNOW---RIGHT??
