This is disc 8 of 9 from Electric Gauchos Box Set: 81 tracks on 9 CDs, vocal songs by Steve Ball built on top of all improvised tracks recorded by Electric Gauchos during a four day session in late May 2014. Featuring: Brock Avery (drums, percussion), Fernando Kabusacki (guitars), Fernando Samalea (drums, percussion, vibes), Horacio Pozzo (guitars, keyboards), Igor Abuladze (bass), Steve Ball (guitars, keyboards). This disc features 9 (vocal) songs built on top of the improvised pieces from CD 1-6. These tracks also feature compelling backing vocals from Jaxie Binder, Robert Taylor-Manning, Julia Zenteno Argüello, Sandra Prow, and Paul O'Rear and excellent counterpoint cello and flute from the ever-present Stephen Thompson. Electric Gauchos is a spin off of Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists and Los Gauchos Alemanes. Their first recording (Blue Orb: live in Seattle and Buenos Aires) captured the 90s version of this intense, precise electric band that feels like the LCG with electric guitars, drums and percussion. For these recordings, Steve Ball invited the musicians into the studio for four days just after an Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists project. They hit record, and 81 tracks (that each sound composed) poured out over four days. This audacious project will feature a new CD release monthly though out each month of 2016. * * *
