The album features eleven performers, including piano and vocals, percussion, violin, flute, saxophone and many more, creating a diverse and intriguing atmosphere for the delivery of equally diverse and unusual lyrics. This album draws musical inspiration from piano and voice artists like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Nellie McKay, with their emphasis on strong pop music structure and powerful vocals, and also contains arrangements and that draw from contemporary artists like St. Vincent to Romantic era composers like Debussy and Ravel.
