Growing up in a country music loving household, Alison Nichols idolized legends such as Dolly Parton and Merle Haggard at an early age. Since the day she learned to speak, she’s been writing songs and making music. Today, she is the 2017 winner of the Songsmith Songwriting Shootout, catching the attention of Scott Hoying from the well-known a cappella group Pentatonix, and has 5 country/pop singles on iTunes/streaming services. Alison, as a new 20-year-old country artist, hopes to reach a broader audience that doesn’t only include country music fans. Country music, in her opinion, is for everyone, and she hopes that her music can speak to people who close themselves off to country music due to stereotypes or the stigma it sometimes holds.
