I first wrote this song about five years ago, and it's still my favorite song I've ever written; I'm very proud of it. The funny thing is, we rewrote much of the lyrics recently in order to reflect the state of the nation: conservatives currently have control over all 3 branches of government, which can be a scary thing for a gay person.
