Forming in the fall of 2012, We Set Signals was originally intended to front as a covers act until deciding to release an EP written by Nick (Vocals). Inevitably this became the bands first release “Break These Walls”. Released in July 2012, the debut EP received a 4/5 from triple j’s Dave Ruby and Stu Harvey, including favourable reviews in Hysteria and Blunt Magazine’s. 2013 saw We Set Signals gain international popularity after releasing a Punk Goes Pop cover of Carly Rae Jepsens ‘Call Me Maybe’ receiving a combination of over 380,000 views on Youtube. Shortly following this the band released ‘That Was A Close One’, a single written to contribute to the awareness of victims of war. The same year found the band hitting the road in support of some of biggest names in Punk / Post Hardcore from Australia and abroad including The Amity Affliction, Funeral For A Friend, Alesana, Jonah Matranga, The Matches, D at Sea and Sienna Skies. The winter of 2014 yielded the bands second studio album ‘Polaris’ showcasing 10 tracks that drew a heavier influence, exposing Nick’s (Vocals) life lessons learnt the hard way . The much anticipated release received a popular welcome from fans both nationally and abroad with the album self-distributed internationally. Infamous artist reviewer ‘I Probably Hate Your Band’ rated We Set Signals ‘Polaris’ an 8.5 out of 10. The band continued to tour the record along the east coast of Australia for the remainder of 2014 / 2015. Now writing their third studio album, We Set Signals plan to return to their roots where it all began; a home built recording studio complemented by a record completely self produced by themselves.
