Zuzu's Petals is a Rock and Roll band from Vancouver Island who's main core consists of Nick Joy, Aidan Thorne and Louis Grove and sometimes features Dante Decaro or Mich Cota on bass guitar. The band formed in 2011 in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Their sound has often been compared to Pavement, Songs Ohia, The Rolling Stones and Neil Young though they are consistently experimenting with different genres and sounds. They have been praised by fans and critics for their lyrical songwriting and loose sound. They often move back and forth between Vancouver Island and Montreal. Some related bands include Teenage Wedding, Little Fire, Dante Decaro, Archery Guild, No Aloha, The Walls are Blonde/Blood, Wolf Parade.

At Long Last, Zuzu's Petals third album, was recorded in Dante Decaros studio in Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. The sound was heavily influenced by both local music and the preceding winter in Montreal. It is heavier, darker and louder then Zuzu's Petals other works. Common themes of the album include death, winter, isolation, and distance but ultimately is uplifting and romantically optimistic.
