Hassidism is famous for its musicality, but few hassidic melodies have the backstory of those taught by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Shneersohn, in the late hours of Simchas Torah night. After Hakafos, the hours of dancing for which his court was famous, the Rebbe would reenter in the wee hours of the morning to teach a niggun, a hassidic melody, to those still on their feet. These melodies would come to be known as the Rebbe's Niggunim. They are presented here, for the first time, in string quartet music.
