Producer/BeatMaker/Arranger/Composer CEO and Founder of Raptor Recordz Michael Tidwell was born in the inner city of Houston, Texas on January 29, 1988. At a very young age he was moved to the small city of Whitehouse, Texas where his parents had found good job opportunities. It was at age 12 when Michael had been introduced to the foundation of music when he was given his first drum pad and a pair of VicFirth 7A drumsticks. From that day forward Michael has been a non stop drumming phenomenon, and he was hooked for good. Now noticing his passion for percussive arts he then auditioned for the White House Junior High School drum line, and succeeded with flying colors. He then got experience with complicated rudiments and drumming techniques that he had only hoped for. He had also been placed with the symphonic concert band which was an amazing honor for a musician his age, this is where he started to learn his sight reading techniques, and his ability to express quality with the notes that he would play through any percussive instrument that was handed to him. When Michael graduated from junior high, he walked out with many accomplishments, and harnessed a lot more musical ammunition for the taking, but he wanted more. At age 17, Michael was forced to leave White House and go back to Houston due to his parents finding better job opportunities, and to be closer to his family members, though to his dismay he would have to leave his closest friends, and his fellow band mates behind. Arriving at Cypress Falls High School, Michael had found a very competitive edge to his ability to drum. There were people drumming along side of him that had been playing percussion like it was a full time job. Making the drum line was not easy for Michael, though he found his groove and made the most of what he could do. At his junior year of high school Michael had already achieved an abundant amount of awards such as a Bands of America Achievement where he was flown with the marching band to Indianapolis, Indiana where they placed a high astonishing playing score out of at least 100 bands, and also a Region Band award where he had to memorize and play in front of judges, an assortment of etudes not only played on the snare drum, but on the marimba as well. And that's to only name a few. At the end of his junior year of high school. Michael was flown to San Diego, California to get extensive practice, and training for 2 days with the drum corp called "Esperanza" where he had learned a ton of sound developing techniques and marching styles that he had never heard of. Also following within the same year Michael had an awesome drumming experience playing along side with the drum corp known as the "Troopers" which were founded in Casper, Wyoming, it was a 3 day process of non stop drumming which was held at Stephen F. Austin High School. He was a new drummer with a new attitude and he was playing with snare drummers that would intimidate the human eye and ear. Michael's major accomplishments were received in his senior year of high school when he played in the theatrical yet hardcore Cypress Falls Indoor Drum line. The indoor drum line piece was entitled "V for Victory" which told the story of the lives of the men that fought in World War 2. The Cypress Falls Indoor Drum line won a consecutive amount of awards in a period of 3 to 4 months then any drum line has ever seen. The drum line even hired Mr. Ralph Hardimon who has been a well known supporter and business man of the world of drum corp and for the percussive arts society, so Michael knew he was in the right place at the right time for his music to blow up in other drum lines faces. The Cypress Falls indoor drum line was also sponsored by Pro- Mark, to where we got well known all over Houston, and we got as much free supplies from them when we needed it. In the year of 2007 this indoor drum line came in second place overall in the state of Texas, and it was one of Michael's most amazing accomplishments of his musical career to be apart of that. Now that high school is over. Michael is as of right now enrolled into college at Dallas Baptist University striving to get his Bachelors Degree in Marketing with a minor in music business. He also in fact is striving at his best to make part in the music industry to be a successful Beat maker/Producer and Record Label Owner, while also establishing his own Music Publishing Company. Mr. Tidwell aka: "Mike David" is now President and CEO of Raptor Recordz, in which this has been a major blessing and achievement to put himself as a music business owner in the industry. Mike has grown to make innovative strides to put himself as a performing artist and a professional businessman to help his marketing strategy grow, and to provide a great platform for future artists.
