WAYFARER – Thunderous, yet sensual Rn’R. Yeahbsolutely. Wayfarer is a four-piece, original Rock and Roll outfit from Calgary, Alberta. These truthful, travelling troubadours stand and deliver deadly infectious grooves, soulsearing solos, and intricate, ear-gasmic four-part vocal harmonies to craft their particular pedigree of vociferous, yet soothing rock and roll. Wayfarer began in a northwest Calgary basement back in 2006, and solidified their lineup and musical vision in the spring of 2010. That summer, Wayfarer set forth on a highly successful tour of western Canada as part of the Brentwood Music Revue, and then kept warm and busy throughout the chilly 2010/2011 winter by songwriting, gigging extensively, and capturing saucy, finely-honed jams with Brad Taylor of Taylor Sound Recording. Wayfarer completed and released their eponymous EP in May 2012, to the enthusiastic endorsement of their musical peers and a capacity crowd. The band has since built off this momentum, and 2013 has seen them continue to organize and perform raucously victorious shows in Calgary and beyond. Wayfarer’s track “Bear” has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2013 Calgary Folk Music Festival Songwriting Contest, and they are currently booking extended and far-reaching tours for the summer and autumn.
