As Phantom says in the song: "It doesn't matter where you come from, as long as you have ambition!!" There is truly a Del Ray everywhere. Many can relate to struggling just to make it through each day to provide for their famillies. Rising above all of those circumstances makes you stronger. Del Ray is a unique and culturally diverse comunity where we took care of one another. We will put our resources together and with smiles and love and maybe sometimes tears, we still made it through. Del Ray will soon be just a memory due to a major construction project. I wrote this song as a way of paying tribute to the place that first loved me and supported me since I was a little girl. The place that I will love forever. There are many amazing people that come from the ghetto and making positive impacts in society. I hope this song will touch hearts and minds across the world, and to remember that it does not matter where you come from, never stop believing in yourself and pursuing your dreams!!
